I am a holistic health practitioner and I teach people how to lose weight naturally and permanently. Because, diets just don't work.

The weight will inevitably come back unless you chnage your eating habits into something you can do for the rest of your life.

Try eating brown rice daily (you can make a big pot of it and heat it up throughout the week). Also, try and eat more veggies every day. Just doing these 2 things, and keeping the rest of your diet exactly the same, will start to change your bodies chemistry and alter your cravings.

I totally agree that weight loss much be done in a healthy way by changing unhealthy eating and exercise habits. Weight loss will never be permanent unless the basic way of doing things is changed.

I've found it fun to get into cooking healthy recipes. It keeps me interested in eating more veggies, for instance, to try new ways of preparing them. Also, using more healthy oils like olive oil and coconut oil, getting rid of processed foods and sugar from the diet, all can be looked at as a challenge and you can discover tasty recipes to support your new lifestyle.

Hi Carol Anne, I agree with eating greens daily but not brown rice. Brown rice is healthier than white rice but I don't believe we need grains at all. Have you read "Grain Damage" by Douglas Graham?

As for oils in the diet, I avoid those too. Oils of any kind are not health foods. I only use nuts, seeds, and avocado for sources of whole fats.

I also don't believe in eating many grains, if any. Unless you're training as an athlete and will burn the excess sugars for energy. I don't eat wheat at all.

Has anyone tried a Grain Free diet? I'm interested in starting. I have corn and rice sensitivities while my son has wheat issues.

Any advice?
