I know this might sound crazy, but I was watching a few HGTV shows this week and each one on them stated that everyone wants stainless steel appliances. I don't have stainless steel myself but I was wondering if that is the case? What color appliances do you have? Mine are white refrig, black stove and black dishwasher and white microwave.

Stainless is all the rage now. It's so clean and neutral. Both my kids have bought homes and/or new appliances in the last couple of years, and both have all stainless.
I have white myself now, but when I buy again, probably stainless. I did have a stainless fridge once and loved it.
I'm afraid of the black--doesn't it show spots really bad?

I love stainless steel, but right now I have a hodge podge! I live in a apratment and we are more focused on getting out of debt and becoming finacially secure. When we are rich and famous though we will have stainless steel!

My house is 85-years old and I have a small galley kitchen. In order to make it appear larger I have everything in white, including all my appliances.

I like all black, but mine are all white. I think white or yellow in an older home like yours, Deb, would be great.

It would be ideal to get appliances that fit the same color scheme of your kitchen but unfortunately I do not have that luxury right now and have to go with whatever is the cheapest.

I prefer white - it just goes with everything.
And a white refrigerator shows off all those magnets that you get as souvenirs so well!!!

my appliances are almond textured and black with stainless sinks. But it is a rental and I have no choice. I always remember mom's warm brown and gold appliances from the 60's. I would love to have a kitchen like Rachael Ray's on her cooking show--with the yellows and greens and warm Mediterranean colors. Or the stereotypical 1950's lemon yellow and robin's egg blue. Maybe it is just my imagination but I think white and black are harder to keep clean--the brushed stainless seems like it would be easier to keep off the smudges and grime.
