A reader recently asked me for some baby name ideas. The reader has a son named Storm and is now seeking a name for baby boy #2.

I suggested a variety of names such as Solomon, Clement, Rain and Urtzi -- but what I'd now like to know is: What do you think? What male name would sound good next to the name Storm?

Rain reminds me of a Korean singer/actor. Oddly enough, the related names that popped up in my head were Cloud and Squall, which are both characters in a computer game. smile

From your article, Galen seems to stand out for me. I like the analogy, "calm before the storm." Ravi, too.

I was thinking along the lines of "water" so here's my suggestion: Ervin/Irvin/Irving, Nereus, or Kyle, but the last one doesn't seem to match.

As an opposite, probably Cyrus or Elio? Hope I helped in some way. smile

Thank you for the suggestions, Jeannie!

Out of the names you came up with, I especially like Nereus. "Storm" is a bold name, and Nereus matches Storm pretty well on this level.

Thanks, too, for liking it. I had a pretty hard time to think of a good name for Storm's sibling. Would've chosen a season like Summer, only that it's commonly a girl's name.

Has the reader decided on a name already?

I e-mailed the reader when the article was done, but I haven't heard back, so I'm not sure if the name has been chosen yet or not. I will keep my eye out for a response...

I like the names... that's a good idea, about having the same first letters, in this case the "ST". Gives a sort of rhythm or something.
