Like a lot of folks these days, I always check online ticket sites in the hopes of snagging a great price on airline tickets. Expedia and Travelocity are the two sites I frequent most. Interestingly, I've found that a travel agent has been able to find a much lower fare - and in at least two cases she also found better connections. Anyone else have a similar experience? Or have you found a website that beats any travel agent's efforts every time?

I subscribe to several fare alert broadcasts, and I travel when a fare hits a super low value. So it means I need to watch them for a while to have it match up with where I want to go, but it also means I get a really good deal.
