I'll start, this Christmas holiday season I'm going for a red lip with black liner along tip lash line and a light rose blush. Very matte finish.

Max Faxtor has the coolest mascaras coming out - they have a bit of glittery color in them. They look like they'll be lots of fun for going to holiday parties and such. It's called Vivd Impact.

Here's the seb link for a look : Vivid Impact mascara

The other thing I am determined to do, is figure out how to use fake lashes! I can put them on my daughter - we used some really great ones for Halloween, but I cannot get them on myself. And I must have about 5 different pairs (that I don't know how to use, LOL!)

I checked out the mascara, it says I should wear Moonlit Black. I think I may go buy it>

Okay, as for the lashes. To get the most natural look, you have to go with singles, never a "string" The ones that are one piece for each eye look fake.

If you choose the ones that are individual, apply them exactly where you want them, after mascara, this way they have something to hold them there (along with the glue). You can get a really nice cat's eye if you put them on the outer corners. If you looks at Allure's cover, I believe last month, Jennifer Lopez wore them perfectly.

Thanks for the post.

So anyway, I looked for the Max Factor at the store, and it wasn't out yet!

Maybe it's too new. I was psyched to try it.

Shucks:(

Well, I finally got around to buying some of these colors and trying them out. One I use on me - Karat Brown - it is a dark brown undercoat with a gold highlight, and the other I let my daughter use occasionally (I might use it if I ever go to a party or something) Blushing Blue - a navy undercoat with hot pink highlight.

Here's pictures of Karat Brown (still got to get some of the other)

It shows up better if you concentrate the highlight color just on the tips of the lash.

OK - got my daughter to model the Blushing Blue.

This one is not as subtle, it's a lot more funky.

And while the other one seems to show up better when blinking (gives the glittering effect), this one seems to show up better when the eyes are open (really sets off the pink against the blue).

(And yes, she has MUCH better eyelashes than me - argh!)

Those are GREAT pics Michelle! It really makes a difference to see them on a real person and up close like that.

I like both colors. I can see where different holidays can lend themselves to different colors. For example, the blue would be wonderful for upcoming 4th of July bashes....hmmmmm...maybe I need to get myself some! smile

I've worn colored mascara before, and had a lot of fun with it. I also love to wear glitter eyeliner in more subtle colors like royal blue and plum. It adds a bit of sparkle to my eyes without looking animated.
I tend to wear red lipstick/lipgloss more during the holiday season as well with neutral-colored eyeshadow. False eyelashes add a bit of pop when I go out at night.
