Hey all! I would like to ask your opinion on this. I am currently writing a fiction book based on a CF couple. The basic premise is that a couple who is CF move to a town that is completely child friendly... every couple there has at least 3-4 children that has been married for awhile, and the newlyweds all have "honeymoon" babies. The entire town is shocked that this couple have decided not to have children. It will be sort of a comedy, because the people of the town will all try and convince this couple to have kids in the various ways that we all know about! I was just wondering if that's a book that you would find interesting. And do you think the mothers and family friendly people would be all offended about the book?

Would you read this CF book?

If parents are offended by your book, then they don't have to read it. Don't allow societal pressure to stop you from becoming an interesting writer with fresh ideas! If you write only what people expect you to write, you'll be boring. People will read a boring book only if it's written by a famous person... Look at George Orwell: his book 1984 sparked controversy and it's now considered a classic! If people are offended, then that's their problem -- not yours. The premise of your book is brilliant, so I'll definitely buy it when it's in the book store smile

the only successful books offend atleast half the audience. Look at JK Rowling--do you think Harry Potter would be such a sensation if the christian conservatives didn't have a problem with it?

I keep envisioning The Stepford Wives, but with couples programmed to reproduce. Could definitely be funny!

Hmm..I'd go for it, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's just because I'm finicky about what I read.

As most of you know that I am on the other side of the fence of the child free community, but I would read the book! Wouldn't it be interesting to see if we recognize anyone from this bulletin board in the book?

Can I please be the mom in the community that has lots of children that refuses to judge or condemn the child free couple's lifestyle? ;-)
