I would feel if a woman will be wearing this jewelry daily for the rest of her life that she should have an equal say in what she is getting. Not as in "I will only take a diamond of $10k or more" but more in the sense of "I simply adore that ring with vines on it, that would make me so happy ..."

I think it must be choose d together.Surprises r not always good.

Surprises are definitely not always good! Especially a surprise that you'll have to wear every day! So yeah, you should definitely pick them out together!

I think that most of the womens prefer surprise,because it gives some special and double happiness feeling.So, my vote is for surprise.

I would hope he knows me enough to choose it for me. So I would love it to be a surprise. I want to be shocked and cry and do all that good stuff. LOL
