Okay, that is just too weird about the peanut butter. Why not jelly too?  I just saw a CSI episode where a woman at a spa had cucumbers on her face. maybe they only do this in spas on TV?

Maybe they mistakenly thought it's the protein in a steak that helps heal a bruise and that it would help here. Apparently it's not the protein - it's just the coldness of the steak

I have used cucumber juice on my eyes. Just grate the cucumber into a bowl and strain. Keep the juice in a jar in the fridge and when you're ready dab a cotton ball or two in there and plop them on your eyes. I also like to soak jumbo cotton balls or thick gauze in icy witch hazel. It smells terrific and is so relaxing.
The spa I patronize uses a vitamin E serum that is WONDERFUL on the eyes but they leave the cukes on the sandwiches. I have never tried it before.Thanks for sharing it.

Once many years ago I tried it just to see what the big deal was about that and I was not impressed so I never did it again.
