Have you ever considerd that the prophets and disciples in the Bible were also psychic? How else would they have been able to recieve the visions they did and hear the the Holy messengers of God?

However, one must be very careful when dealing with psychics. Just because they are recieving information from the spirit world does not necessarily mean that it is Holy information. Demons and converts can also communicate with psychics. Its one of the ways they try to draw people away from the Truth.........

There are references to psychic perception in the Bible as you say & certainly visitations by angels are very important. It would be narrow minded to discount the ability to communicate with the spirit world these days, yet affirm that it happened in the past.

You are right to be discerning though- as I've said before just because a being is in spirit does not necessarily make it either wise or helpful.

Some psychics are also not lightworkers- to be psychic isn't the same as to be good, it is just a skill- to say all psychics are well intentioned would be as daft as saying any other profession is entirely populated by helpful people!

I think some people have true psychic ability. I was told once by a psychic that I have the potential to be a good psychic if I trusted my intution (which I didn't because I thought I was losing my mind) I could have won some lottery once if I had trusted my intution. I had a very strong (almost overwhelming) feeling to play these four numbers. I started to walk to my neighborhood carry out to play them. About half way to the store I turned around and went back home because I thought I was crazy. I watched the evening news and the four numbers I was going to play turned out to be right. Needless to say I felt pretty dumb. I have trusted my intution from that day forward.

Yes, fear of the unknown is great. Plus the fact that most poeple think it has to do with the devil can cause some strife and torment if you are blessed with the gift, no matter how great or small.

I have also received readings from psychics at both ends of the spectrum. When I was younger I wanted someone to tell me what was going to happen in the future, what I should do, etc.

Now, being older and wiser (let's hope!), I realize that the future isn't set in stone. Things may be moving in one direction, but I have the choice and the responsibility for what I want to experience.

I also realized that while many people can pick up information psychically, it's important to find someone who is spiritually grown and can interpret the information from a higher consciousness.

It's best to go by personal recommendation. Don't see anyone who uses fear energy in their readings or is very black and white about things. They may be picking up information but not interpreting it well.

Nowadays I get a reading about once a year just to check in and see if I like the direction I am headed. If not, then I change course. I see the reading as a way to receive confirmation of what I know or to get further insight.

Hope this does not offend anyone, but it is the point that I am right now. I do not do readings for people any more. I felt like they were wanting me to tell them how to live their lives. I will show, teach, help someone to learn to do their own readings. I think the answers must come from ourselves.

I believe that any true and caring 'psychic' would not be advertising on the internet or anywhere else for that matter - the ones who do are only out for money. A true psychic is one that would be willing to help people sincerely. Any healer or psychic should not be advertising their abilities/powers. Their helpful abilities should be by word of mouth and never offered for money, but be willing to help someone if asked. Then, donations can and should be offered by the person seeking help. I distrust anyone who advertises psychic abilities for sale. That is almost like an ordained minister offering prayers for sale.

Part of me would love to go to a psychic - I never have - and the other part thinks it's good not to know what's in my future!

But, if I'd have know that I would've gotten happily married at age 35, I certainly wouldn't have spent several years worrying and fretting about wondering about when I would ever get married. I would've just relaxed and let the future take care of itself.

Mind you, that's what we should be doing anyway, isn't it? Just relaxing and letting the future take care of itself....

Every human being on the planet has the psychic ability within them as well as other creatures of earth. Did you ever meet a person and feel that there was something wrong about them even if you could not put your finger on it? They seemed o.k. outwardly but you just knew to stay away from them. Why do the birds leave days before a hurricane hits land. This was a gift given to us for our protection. It has saved countless lives.It is no different than any other of our senses and was well perfected in countless other ancient cultures. Fearing it is understandable and I do understand because I am Chicken Chow Main about some spiritual things but maybe it is time to look at what the fear is. If we can not understand or believe in it within ourselves, how could we possibly believe in it in others. What we fear about the phenomena and those that possess it is may just be "projection". It is within us but maybe because of religious beliefs or fear we do our best to try to reason it away. It is perfectly o.k. to never enter fully into that world but lets understand what is really holding us back. The fear may really be within and not from without. We may be more afraid of our own abilities than those in others. If a reader really cares about people and truly desires the best for them, of which there are many, then the reading most probably will be correct, fun, possibly life giving and probably worth every penny that it costs, advertised or not.

Laurie, if you hadn't have spent all those years as you did you wouldn't have ended up where you are today.

Something akin to the butterfly effect...a theory that, simply said, "when a butterfly in South America flaps its wings it starts a hurricane in North America"

Every little thing that we did 10 years ago got us to where we are today.

Also, on a side bar...just because the person is 'of the cloth' doesn't necessarily mean that they too speak to the creator. That too like a degree is just a piece of paper and doesn't make them any better than anyone else.
