Why no burgers? I eat one once a week. The best one here in Pittsburgh is made with ground filet mignon at "The Bottle Shop". It melts in your mouth.

I've learned that when I'm craving something, it doesn't go away til I eat it. If I don't, I just eat a bunch of [censored] that doesn't satisfy me, and those calories can add up to more. How about you make your self one with half ground turkey, half beef? I like veggie burgers too. Try them with salsa yet?

Rosie, a small cheeseburger is not a bad thing. It's those super-sized loaded burgers with fries & shakes or sodas that make us fat. A correct size for a cheeseburger is about the size of your palm.

If you ignore your cravings, that can lead to pigging out and eating everything in sight.

I'm a big believer in allowing yourself to eat treats occasionally for long-term weight loss. That way, when you reach your goal, you don't go crazy eating everything you "gave up" and gain it all back. The key is to learn to limit treats (even like a cheeseburger) to occasional splurges, not everyday fare.

That is so true. Everything in moderation is a good thing. Why not have a regular cheeseburger, cut it in half and eat a big salad or plate of veggies with it? Do the same thing tomorrow with the other half. I'm going to try this myself for lunch one day.

Nowadays, the burgers in restaurants are too big, 1/2 pounders are obscene for any woman watching her weight. My sister and I split large sandwiches all the time. That way we can afford to eat the french fries too.

I think all restaurant portions are too big. I usually only eat half and save the rest for another meal. Sometimes my husband and I will split a couple of appetizers as our meal and that's enough.

Splitting with someone else sounds like a good idea, or saving the other half for later, but knowing me once i get a taste of it i would be saying "I ate the whole thing"

You are hilarious! Believe me it was hard splitting. I could have eaten the whole thing but I had three bacardi and diet cokes instead! Talk about empty calories.

I like making half-n-half burgers with turkey and bulgur. There is no mistaking it's bulgur in there - but it is filling and it supports any condiment and most any add-on!!!

Since I watched Super Size Me, I haven't eaten any fast food burgers. Since I read the book, I haven't eaten any fast food at all. It's funny but after a while, when you walk past the shops, the smell is awful, whereas before it was tantalising.

I prefer to make my own. Some delicious mince, add some pesto, mix together, and serve in a scrumptious bun with salad.

I eat beef but I haven't had it in a long time. Been eating chicken burgers. Now I can really use a burger after reading this thread.

I saw that Super Size Me documentary (think it was a documentary) and it amazed me how big servings could get. I never super sized anything, therefor, I didn't know sizes like that existed.

It's the Super Size drinks that astound me. I consider myself a Diet Coke addict, and I couldn't get through those buckets in a day, let alone a single sitting.
