I am sitting here watching Tombstone and I can't believe I didn't think of it before...
The character of Josephine Marcus gives a whole speech about having children not suiting Wyatt Earp, and how she wants to live and go and be who she is.
And, the better part, it's basically a true story (a few embellishments, but it's an example of a strong, vivacious victorian woman!)

I may not have seen every Bond movie, but I believe none of the Bond women ever showed up with a child. I guess you could say I appreciate that they never saw fit to stuff that into a storyline somewhere. Most long-running series have a magical child show up somewhere down the line (X-Files, Xena, BSG, Angel). Well, I guess Buffy avoided that plotline too.

Interestingly in the very classic story of King Arthur and Gueneviere, they never have any children in their long marriage. It is assumed they wanted them, but the story of their marriage is a child free one.
I don't think Lancelot has kids either.
Arthur only has a son because he is seduced by his sister / half-sister.

I've got one! Along Came Polly. I LOVE that movie cos (a) I think Ben Stiller is a CUTE (realise not everyone will agree) and funny actor. (b) Funny movie (c) I like Jennifer Anniston AND (d) Jennifer's character, Polly is VERY spontaneous, she is NOT a planner but does things on a whim including suddenly deciding to live and work in different countries for the hell of it, something that appeals to me. And (e) in the end, Ben's character and Polly decide to just go with the flow in their relationship. Yes, that COULD mean they don't use birth control who knows but it could ALSO mean that having a child would REALLY tie them down cos how spontaneous can you BE? if you have kids. So they don't therefore decide to have a baby. Maybe it's NOT a good example but at the very least they are NOT TIED to the life script.

I leave the child-rearing to people who feel called to it. I've never felt that call.

Legally Blonde. At the beginning, all Elle wanted was "the rock" and the marriage, not to have her boyfriend's babies. She spends the rest of the movie studying, working spending time with friends, and ends up with a job at a law firm and a new fiance. The only "babies" in this movie are Bruiser the chihuahua and Rufus the bulldog.
"Perhaps she would become one of those women, pitied or envied, who chose not to have children" - Atonement
