Hi, Advice anyone PLEASE! I have a bit of grey hair right at the front, so I look like Morticia out of the Adams Family. I was wondering, if I get my hair dyed the same colour that it is now, honey bloned to dark brown, Will my nateraL HAIR show though when the dye grows out? I am growing out blond streaks, which are about 6'' down now, and I feel so frumpy and ugly. Any Advice?

If you want to, your hairdresser should be able to tint just the front to match your natural hair. - If that is the only place you have gray. It sounds as though you may want some attention to all of your hair to take care of the highlights too.

I know there are many women that are just fine with their hair in its natural state but I think that the majority of us feel the same as you about gray hair. As a hairdresser, I meet more of those than the happily gray women.

HI, It depends on the person & how they look with gray hair. I'm growing out my hair to the natural color after dyeing it from bleached blonde to black over 20 yrs. I'm 51 but lucky to look much younger. My hair is a few inches past my shoulders & is thick & naturally curly. I have long layers.
So, far I like the natural color more than when I used to dye it. So, does everyone else I know. My natural hair color is a very dark brown that looks black, with alot of shiney silver. The men seem to like it too! But it is not for everybody. It depends. Also if a person is not comfortable with gray hair then that is up to them. It is getting more popular. Gray hair is not what it used to be. If women had it in the past it was a bad thing. Also, I would rather have my hair in the healthy condition it is becoming than the frizzy, damaged, mess, I had when I dyed my hair.
I used to dye my hair on my own & I also had it professionally done when I had a steady good job. I also had highlights sometimes. Yrs. ago I tried 2 perms when my hair was not as curly as it is now. If I decide 1 day that I dislike the gray or I'm tired of it & want a new look, I can always go back to dyeing it. I really don't worry about it. Believe me I do care about how I look too. But I like the way my hair looks now, more than ever. Judy K. Chicago

Hi Judy, Thanks for posting. Your natural hair color sounds beautiful. It's nice to find that your hair is prettier and is easier to maintain at the same time.

HI, Thank you Lynne for what you posted. I had a very bad cold for the last week. I just want my hair to be healthy again. It is much better than it was. I also went through a long time illness that affected my skin & hair. Sometimes medications can affect skin & hair too. But so far my hair looks better with the silver than it did when it was colored. But who knows, if I decide I want a change or if my hair changes & does not look good natural, I can always go back to highlighting or dyeing it.
Everyone is different & it does bother some women. I'm like Rosie, it doesn't bother me. It does look good. I know it gets real hard to color the gray hair. Highlights seem to blend in better with gray hair. I hope that everyone has a real nice weekend. Best Wishes, Judy K. Chicago area.

I have it too - I have to keep getting highlights to cover it. I like that the grey can be mistaken for blond highlights!
