This sounds corny - but, homemade apple pie! She makes the best.

For some reason, I'll say flappers, because my mom always loves the 20s era and she keeps her hair short. So I think of her as a lively, rebellious woman.

I Love Lucy, '57 Chevies, fresh-baked shortbread, tomatoes straight from the garden, basketball, getting up early and exercising, rock 'n' roll music from the '50's, Southern accents, the Civil War, parks, the ocean, planting trees, writing stories and articles and poems and songs, singing, laughing, telling jokes, dancing, dressing up, putting on make-up, travelling, reading, pierced ears, hiking ... it's endless ...my mom loved me and taught me so much. I know I was her reason for a lot of things she did to try to give me a good life - to leave something good in the world so that she could go on even after she's gone.
