Thrillers not so much. When I like a book I then go on a binge and try to read everything by the same author. Elizabeth George, Martha Grimes, Sara Paretsky, P.D. James, Ellis Peters, Agatha Christie, Dashiell Hammet, Will Thomas.

I have been staying away from the library deliberately lately though. I'm working on a novel of my own and when I get books I tend to sit down and read them through, regardless of what needs to be done in the real world!

Sign of the true Reader!

I'm off to run some errands now. I'm getting ready for a big trip. I leave Monday for France. I hope I'll be able to check email while I'm gone since I won't be back home until April 28.

I do have my weekly movie reviews loaded!

Cheers

The ending is difficult to deal with. I've heard many people complain that they were really into the movie until the end and left the theater unsatisfied.

I think the problem is that we all have story patterns in our heads. The Coen brothers gave us an ending that didn't fit the pattern. Have you read my review?

I think "No Country For Old Men" is a movie with a profound message hidden deep within it's story. It is a movie that needs to be watched again and again in order to fully comprehend what message is there for us. Of course, each person who watches it might see or hear a different message. I doubt that it was written as just a bloodthirsty story - I believe there really are many hidden meanings in it. It is a movie like "Radio Flyer" that must be watched several times to even begin to understand the underlying messages. (I still don't get that one, after watching it 4 times).

Your review of the movie, Peggy, was great!
