hi everyone! i just wanted to update everyone on my "essure journey." i went to my gnyo today to discuss having the essure procedure done. i went in b/w my jobs so i told him i didn't have too much time. anyway, he was very very cool about it and only asked me a few ques. like if i was married or not and just to make sure that i never want to get pregnant. he then put me on a list(i'm #2!!!yeah) and said he would call me in a few weeks to schedule my procedure. he's the only one in my area that will be able to do it in office so i'm psyched. he just has to set the office up to be able to do the procedure which he said would take about another month. i was so happy when i left. i can't believe it's finally going to happen. i feel so relieved and i can't wait to have it done.i'll be counting down the days.it looks like it will be within the next 6-8 weeks.

Please please post and let me know how it goes. I have a gyno appointment on May 1 and I'm going to talk to her about having a tubal, as our provincial health care covers tubals but not Essure. But if the Essure is as painless as everyone says, I might just bite the cost (almost $1000 - yikes) and get it done.

I did read another account where they were unable to get the inserts in for some reason, and it sounded like a real performance, so then I got all worried that it might not be as simple as everyone says. So I'd be interested in a first hand account ...

Indigo,

Glad to hear that your consultation went so well!

As I had previously posted, I was supposed to have my consultation on the 22nd, but I had to cancel due to insurance reasons. My health insurance will only pay for 1 visit to the gyno per year, so I am going to have to wait till October.

When I have the procedure, I will have to pay $750 (my deductible) and then 20% of the remaining costs.

I'm hoping for the best for you, Indigo! I'll be following along to see how it goes. I hope to get the proceedure myself sometime next year.

Good for you Indigo. Please continue to keep us posted.

Tress- ::crossing fingers:: for you.

meam- You'll probably have to look long and hard for someone who'll do essure on a 19 year old, but I'm sure there's someone out there. Let us know how your search goes.
