I could and maybe I will write a book on all of my experiences boarding a horse. There's some really bad boarders and owners out there, and some horrible stables. It's so frustrating not owning land and being a horse lover all of this time.

The toughest thing is finding people that do what they say. Things seem to change as soon as you move the horse onsite.

I'll call my book, Boarding Billy. Now finding time to write it.

Just in the past month I've heard of at least two boarding stables that had horses starving to death in them! In one case, it was the owner's horses that were starving, while the tenants' horses were fed. The thing is, how could the people boarding their horses not SAY anything when they see obviously mistreated horses? Scary stuff.

You definitely need to check on them, spot visits at different times. I think such a book is needed - general things to watch out for - since stables do change hands and at times it's not the stable per se but who they subcontract out to. Good luck with that.
