I'm starting up riding again after longer than a decade "break". (didn't want to stop, but just wasn't able to ride during that time except for the erratic trail ride)
When I was taking lessons before, I did mostly western, but the instructor also tossed me on english, bareback, and trouble horses after a while since I could pretty much handle anything she tossed me on. Now I'm starting up eventing (at least, once I'm back in shape...I'm going to be so incredibly sore tomorrow).
So I'm asking for some general tips. Today I was just following the instructors calls, and realizing that I did remember a lot, but for a while at least I'm just going to have to build up those blasted posting muscles. (I didn't even get away with not posting when learning western...My instructor would tell me to drop stirrups and do 200 "situps" at a walk before each lesson. Damn I was in good shape then...)
One thing I'm looking for is a pair of inexpensive riding boots, what brands should I avoid? Where is a good place to buy? Is horse.com any good, or should I be leery of what I get there?
