Its been a long time since I made a swag drapery treatment and I thought you put the pattern for the swag on the bias for better draping but my pattern doesn't make any mention of this. Any advice??

Ive made swags and tails for myself too several years ago but dug my pattern out. It says to put swag on grain of fabric, no bias mentioned, but im in uk and patterns could be different. My theory is if you cut on the bias it gives more stretch across fabric which may work in th drape of swag, but may also cause slight twist, or pulling too. Wht not try it out on a scap of fabric first and see what happens before you waste the fabric you want to use for finished swag?

When I make a swag I cut it on the grain. The part that is cut away on the inside of the tail will be on the bias so it will hang in a gentle wave. It always looks nice. I make the swag and tails all in one piece.
