I have to agree with previous posters. It's not that I don't know any good parents, (I actually know many) it's just that most good parents were good people to begin with.

I also think that almost all life experiences offer a chance for personal growth. Parenthood is a big life experience, but it's up to the individual to take the opportunity grow.

There are a few people for whom parenthood brings out qualities that weren't previously seen. Such as responisibilty, kindness, and thoughtfulness. But again, many life experiences can bring out these qualities.
