Ok dunno how many people have done this one but ya know just after the rocking the cage bit when you go thru alexadrea castle to escape, theres a boss in the library, can I fight this boss later in the game, I've got about 1/3 way thru his HP then it closes back up again and a few rounds with Paperslice(or summat)
and wham I'm dead

Yeah same here,i can remember the part you are talking about but im not 100% sure if i beat him there or went back.
I never got to complete 9 because i baught Pro evolution soccer scored a wonder goal and had no space to save so i had to delete FFIX <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

ok on disc one u can kill Tantarian but u need to b able to do 150 - 200 damage cause tht'll open the page to his main body, when u see him he says "eeek u found me". he is a blue blob type thing. Try not to do physical attacks cause thtll make him close up, use vivis magic attacks and if he in trance thn thtll be great, steiners magic sword works.Tantarians HP is 21,997 and lvl 41. u get ramuhs card,running shoes,12585 exp 30 ap 4472 gil and u can steal an ether,elixer,silver fork and a demons mail.

oh and u dont have to fight him there as u can go back in disc 3 <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

thats all I wanted to know cos I kept dying after he closed back up (no I didnt hit him with physical it just closed up,vivi was doing just over 1200 damage with blizara an steiner nearly 2000 with ice brand an swd magic blizara! he a nasty so an so, ps has anyone ever got to disk 4 in under 12hrs
