Congratulations! What a relief knowing you're not going to be a father. I have a question, though. Did the nurse really have the right to answer personal questions about her? When you asked her if she was pregnant, shouldn't she have said "that's confidential"? Or at least have gotten your ex's permission to answer the question... I don't know what the confidentiality policy there is, but at least she answered your question regardless. And that's all that matters!

You missed most of the original posts where this young man had come asking for advice way in advance of pregnancy ever being an issue. This girl had sounded like a bit of a nutcase (although not quite this off-balance) and most everyone agreed that he should end it with her. She was an emotional manipulator.

So he may come off seeming cold to you, but he really isn't.

As far as the nurse giving out that piece of info - she could probably be in pretty big trouble if it was known that she let it slip. I would imagine she answered off the top of her head without considering the legal ramifications.

Oh, we're not idiots. We know that a woman can get pregnant when she's on the pill. However, two BC forms are pretty damn reliable.

The reason that this woman is lying is because she obviously is just doing this to try to get him back.

That being said, I am sorry about this whole situation. It really sucks, and she is a nutcase. I hope she gets the help she needs and that it doesn't involve you in any way.

I'm sorry to hear that this situation ended up as it did. This woman needs more help than you could offer.

As to why the nurses answered the question about pregnancy, if he was identified as the woman's boyfriend, then that may have been enough of a relationship for that information to be relayed at the moment. I am not in the medical profession, but that might be one possible explanation.

I a relieved for the OP, I hope you can get on with your life, run fast away from this girl. She sounds like a real nutter, someone who would be a mill stone around your neck your whole life.

I see nothing wrong with how you have behaved and reacted to how you have been treated. You have stepped up and honestly said you don't want to have children, broken up with her because she says she does. I see nothing wrong in that. I also see nothing wrong in two adults having sex, the man using a condom and the woman using birth control pills, that is taking alot of precautions and being responsible.

Just in future, if you can, make sure there are pills missing from her pack. Since you prefer to remain CF, make sure next time you date someone that they feel the same way before things get too far.

Actually, Frank, if I ended up pregnant on BC AND using a condom, I'd be pretty pi$$ed off. Maybe YOU need to do some more research - the pill "used properly" (and please note the qualification) is over 99% effective. If you're being told that it's not, then maybe YOU need to follow up with the people who are NOT using it properly.

People on this forum wish to avoid getting pregnant, and with the help of BC and some common sense have no trouble consistently achieving that end. I've managed it for over 20 years. Contrast that with all the people that tell you that "my pill failed" or "the condom failed". BS. It's just an excuse because you were too lazy, stupid, or ill-informed to use your contraception properly.

As for the OP, any man that has this low down, [censored] trick pulled on him has my sympathy. I might be a woman, but there are times when I could happily take a clue-by-four to some of my sisterhood. His ex is a psycho, and unfortunately, at his age, psycho females are common. He's just been put through the wringer by this evil b***h, and he deserves a break. He did everything right and it's NOT HIS FAULT she's a fruit loop.

Imagine, when they first talked about how they fight, she could have looked at herself and said "Hmm, maybe he's right, screaming isn't a really good way to convey my thoughts." And they most likely have stayed together. Imagine, that when he broke up with her, she could have looked at herself and said "Man, he felt so strongly about me acting this way that he's willing to leave, MAYBE he has a point." worked on herself, and possibly gotten back together with him.

Instead, she CHOSE to keep screaming at him, she CHOSE to lie to him. She CHOSE to take those pills and wind up in the hospital. I bet you that she's blaming HIM for all of her troubles, when it's completely her behavior that caused the friction in the first place. Truely, this shows that people who scream as a means of communication have ISSUES.

The first words out of my mouth after I read Frank's post would have probably gotten me kicked off the forum.

It's probably best to do a little research before you pop into another forum and lambaste one of the members. You can always click on the person's profile and read his or her other posts to get yourself up to speed.

This woman was obviously not listening to a word thedopespot said and tried various ways to trap him. She needs help and he just dodged a bullet.

And, like the others said, we're not going to stop having sex because we're CF. Like Pikasam, the dh and I had sex for 20 years w/o getting pregnant by using condoms and spermicides the proper way. They work.
