Okay, I just turned on Oprah...and they are talking about a pregnant MAN??? Bear in mind I'm joining the show halfway through, so I don't know what the deal is, but I'll report back when I figure it out! Maybe a late April Fool's joke?

Apparently this "man" used to be a woman. Has a [censored], but evidently still has the whole uterus rigmarole.

Yep, I was just reading about it on Oprah's website. So, even though "he" has taken testosterone to be a "man", "he" started out as a woman, so it's not that remarkable. They used donor sperm, but apparently used "his" eggs and uterus.

Interesting.....

If (she) was born a woman, and has a uterus, then (she) is still a woman. she is an a man by appearance and surgery only.

And the state of Oregon...apparently they recognized "her" as a "man" now and allowed her/him to legally marry a woman.

I just think it will be confusing for the child one day, when she finds out her "father" gave birth to her. They said they will retain consistent parental roles, so the "man" will be the father, and the woman (who had a hysterectomy, which is why she can't bear their child) will be the mother.

From what I have heard, the only surgery this "man" has had was a double mastectomy (sp?). I don't think he has had any more surgeries to make him a fully functional male.

Oh yes, I read about this. Disturbing. Jesus, people, make up your mind. You can't have everything.
