Whether or not you can see the horses from a main paved road depends on the day. Typically, getting off of the beaten path gives you the best viewing opportunities. Contacting local groups or government affiliated with the herd will give you the best knowledge of where the horses have been roaming.
As far as round ups and adoptions, there has been some recent discussion about removing some younger members of the herd this year and putting them up for adoption. Mustangs have an incredible reproduction rate and as with any horses, they are very hard on the native range if their numbers get beyond the capacity. In order to maintain range condition and allow for cattle grazing, some mustangs do have to get removed periodically. The Pryor mustangs are popular amongst adopters due to their unique genetic heritage.
