I'll give it another day or two to show up first.

I transered him to the hospital tank on "major cleaning day" that I have each year. On that day I litterally remove all items even gravel out of the tank, rinse out the tank itself really well, wash the gravel and plants with a very low dilution of bleech and then put everything back. Most of the water does get replaced but some is kept for their chemicals so they can adjust.

For alot of people my cleaning is very very extreme. But honestly, my fish always seem so much happier after I do. But I am not sure that the virus would have survived that big of a change. But I will keep a very very close eye on them.

Thanks Skeeter

Hi, I am so sorry about Cherry. You did your best. It sounds like Cherry might have had internal disease too far advanced by the time the problem was visible enough to notice it and start doing something about it. Since your fishy already was sick whatn you got him, his sickness may have already effected him internally. Also, you know what? With a tank that sized it is a good idea to completely clean it more like once a month than once a year in order to avoid bad things in the water that negatively effect your fishes' health - like fungus, for example. I hope you are doing o.k. You got some good advice, but maybe the disease, being internal, was more difficult to diagnose soon enough. How are your other 2 fishies doing?
