Has anyone heard Natasha Beningfield's (sp?) new song, "I Wanna Have Your Babies?"

It's about a woman with an agenda for marriage, kids etc and keeping the agenda secret from the guy who she's set her sights on.

It made me want to barf. Is feminism dead?????

This was out in the UK a little while ago. In fact, it's been voted as one of the most irritating pop songs!

This song is coming from a woman who earlier in her career sang about celebrating a single life...whatever sells, I guess...

Just don't watch the video for the song. If you think you'll barf when you hear the song, you definitely will if you see the video!

It's cringeful stuff. Still, I had to laugh when the man in the park refuses to kiss her because she's acting like a psycho, and then he runs off...

That was the only thing that made sense to me in the video. Everything else I could not relate to -- I'm glad! smile

Pity, I used to like some of her songs. Her brother had some good ones a few years ago as well.

Some people actually think like that (have an agenda). What I hate is that some media support those foul ideas by singing and writing about them...as if they're normal or acceptable ideas.

Hmmm.....seems one of these songs comes along every 25-30 years or so....I recall one from the early 80's - some ditty that went "marry me and have my baby yada yada...." Quite popular at the time. Sorry to hear that they recycled this garbage.

It's not only through pop music, but pop culture in general. We're always bombarded with this stupid idea that having kids is just "what you do" - that it's not a choice. Last night, I happened to hear a little bit of Entertainment Tonight after finishing watching something on the DVR, and they were talking to Kim Kardashian, who is one of those celebrities that is famous for pretty much no reason other than being rich or something, and she said "Of course I want to get married, have kids, you know do all that adult stuff...".

Stuff like that irks me. It's like everyone is supposed to just follow the same path in life, when we know that's not the way it is for every person.
