BellaOnline Forums Career Business Owners Does anyone use a blog to promote their biz?

I've been thinking of creating a blog to promote a couple businesses I have. Does anyone else do this and if so, which blog do you use?

Definetly do it... It takes a while before you start seeing traffic but once you start getting a following it'll drive traffic to you.

Blog Catalog zoimbio and technorati are great places to promote your blog. Just google promote blog and you'll find lots of places to register your blog to get traffic.

Thanks so much, I needed that info too! I'm also beginning to see that the personal touch can help you a lot with sales and biz. People feel through a blog that they know you and are more willing to buy from you.

I use a blog, I use Wordpress for periodically writing about different topics, but mainly about photography. I have also been writing on my blog about the presidential election.

A blog takes a little time to learn how to set up if you never created a blog before.

One of the things that I was hoping to be able to do with my blog was to interact with people about jewelry photography, but I don't receive many questions about photography on my blog.

As far as bringing more business to me I don't think that has happened or if it has it isn't doing a lot to increase my ebook sales.

I do think that it does help with my web sites search engine rankings.

I don't write real often on my blog. It is better to write something on your blog at least several times per week. That way you can build up a following of loyal readers.

there are several blogs available on the net, carennedy is correct just google promote blog, and u will see many results, which will definitely help you in increasing your traffice. also you should regularly post in your blog, that is the most important aspect of promoting a blog

Wordpress is pretty cool but I would advice you to install it on your own server to be on the safe side (else your blog could be taken down if you break Wordpress' rules etc). You can also customise the blog using software tools. I used RapidNiche and it has cool features that makes Wordpress more flexible e.g. backs up my blog automatically every week.
