Last night one of my bowling buddies said her tulips were up. I just looked outside in my own yard. There's a thin layer of snow, but no tulips. Does anyone see any flowers? If so, what? I need flowers and sunshine and warm.......

I have snowdrops and crocus blooming, and daffodil leaves about 5 inches out of the ground. Of course, they all got 2 inches of wet, then frozen snow dumped on them last night, but they can take it! They live in northern Indiana!

Here in Vermont, it is still winter. We still have feet of snow and still more fell today. I don't think we will be seeing flowers for quite some time and everyone is feeling the frustration and sadness. Some of us are pretending that it is still February just to get through. Here is to April and a chance for *real* spring blooming!

Shay, I feel your pain!
I lived in central Maine for several years, and it was there that I finally really understood the song from "Carousel", (which is set in Maine) "June is bustin' out all over!" because the last piles of snow didn't leave until sometime in May, and all of a sudden in early June Spring came in a huge rush with everything blooming at once. It was intoxicating after that long, loooong wait.

I lived in northern NY - near Canada growing up. I remember not seeing my mother's flower garden til May or June.

Dandelions on the lawn - something I don't see down here in Florida - used to tell me that spring had arrived.

frown I've been keeping a watch out for my Tulips/Daffodils/Alliums/Crocus'..So far only the tips of the Tulips/Daffodils are showing..No Crocus'..!! They are usually first to peek out..And no sign of the Alliums..Also the Hickory trees are almost budded out by this time every year..No buds yet..And my poor Red Bud Tree is still sleeping..It sure has been a really long winter..Last year we had hard freezes up into late May..I think we are into a mini ice age not Global Warming..lol..!!
