I don't like kids of any age...babies, toddlers, teenagers, etc. I don't like most people in general until they are at least 35, when they might be somewhat capable of acting like mature, responsible adults. Then, if they have kids, that blows it anyway.

Let me add to my comment: I like them if they are well-behaved, etc, but I don't have the desire to have even well-behaved, cute kids around 24/7. I still like the ability to give them back afterwards. smile

Duane - I am sure even the parents feel that way too - but they can't give them back like we can.

And I fully understand that desire. Parenting is not a job you can just quit -- it is a lifelong obligation. And I know I do not want to volunteer for that. It is that simple.

The continuing 24/7/365/30+ obligation that you commit yourself to when you become a parent can't be backed out of.

Well, it can be, but it requires a) putting the child up for adoption, or b) CPS intervention and a lot of trouble, hassle and pain for all involved. frown frown

The worst thing I'm seeing as a trend is that children are relying on their parents WAY past age 18!

Forget about boomerang kids, some never leave in the first place. And a lot stick their hand back into the parental wallet for so many other things, not to mention the FREE babysitting expected. I have a hard enough time with other familial expectations and responsibilities.

Glad I dodged that bullet!

I like kids just fine - as long as they are other people's and stay well away from me. Which they do since I've perfected my "mean old lady who bites" glare.

Why do you think that I said in my post a few messages ago: 24/7/365/30+? smile ... or should that be frown
