thanks for your good luck vibes! the other couple was sick so it ended up just being the 4 of us, plus our friends' kids. i was really relieved and it was super mellow. it was, however, still mostly focused on the kids. i like them and all, but it was kind of boring. at least we're really comfortable with these friends, so if i'm really quiet and mellow, no one cares. there was one big "yuck" moment though:
right after we ate our easter brunch (tables still had food remnants and plates weren't cleared yet), the father says to his son, did you tell "uncle" T what you did??? we look with anticipation expecting some great accomplishment at pre-school, or cool adventure their son went on. the boy smiles shyly and then dad says, "well, we've been trying to get J (the kid) to poop on the toliet, so he's been keeping his diaper on while he has to poop, but standing over the toliet to practice. WELL, the other day when he was doing this, some of the poops fell out of the diaper and into the toliet, SOOOOO he made his first poop in the potty!"
uch. trying to feign excitement and mask disgust over this was not an easy task.
