I'm leery of these results. The scientist went into this "experiment" with preconceived notions as to what results he would receive based on his observations of his wife (whom I'm sure he would say he loves and therefore is looking at her with a bias).

In my experience, I found the exact opposite!

Women that are go-getters before children are still go-getters after. The child didn't make them smarter; it just put pressure on them to get more done because it was demanded. Sort of like I get when a big deadline is looming!

I agree with Anatasia. In fact, I have read studies that confirm that pregnancy actually makes women more forgetful and that continues up to a year after giving birth. So I guess that means if you have more than one kid, you're going to be a forgetful mess for many years to come. How does that make anyone "quicker and/or smarter"?

Oh good Lord. Meh indeed.

What it doesn't take into account is the intelligence level that women started out with. I don't think any of us on this forum need worry - we started several IQ points ahead of half the idiot parents I see.

Two words:

Brittney Spears

I rest my case.

Seriously, I agree with the rest of you. Plus, like Moo said, most moms I know have a terrible memory problem during pregnancy and a while afterward.
