Hi SweetP,

The Bellaonline Wine site has a great article that talks about what types of food to serve at a wine tasting. It is at What Types of Food Should I Serve at a Wine Tasting?

The wine tastings I have attended serve small portions of food that go with the wine being served. You want something that will compliment the wine rather than compete with it. What wines will you serve? When is it?

There are two types of wine tastings.

In one type, you are there to taste wine, so food should be minimal, crackers and maybe cheese. (Old wine saying "Buy on bread, sell on cheese")

The other type isn't really a wine tasting at all, but just a party where you serve different wines and food.

SwweetP, you say "We have purchased an Italian Wine Tasting for 20". Why don't you ask the people that have sold you this... I can't even imagine what they have sold you (what you have bought)... why not give them a call and ask what is expected of you.

Certainly can't recommend foods without knowing what wies you will be 'tasting'.

What the heck is an "Italian Wine Tasting for 20" and where did you buy it?

Hosting a wine tasting sounds like fun.
