Let us know how you like the twisty board, Lisa. I'd like to order one and I'll need to find something else to go with it so I can get the free shipping.

Hi everyone and Rosie. it would be cheaper to just dance to chubby checker, but do you actually DO it? That's the thing. This fun board makes me *do* it. And it's only 10 bucks with free shipping if you order something else.

The Bally Twist Board is fun, like a kids' toy for grownups. I like the blue color too - it's cute and happy looking. That was the major reason i didn't get the grey one. Happy colors are motivating.

Notes: the board is deliberately small. Dan was like "I wish this was bigger" at first. I told him small was the point. It's to help your balance and core muscles through constantly having to adjust your torso in small motions as you spin/twist.

I get on it and twist for a half hour watching TV, and I hold hand weights at my hips while doing it. You can't really do arm exercises since you WILL fall off the thing. heehee. When my weighted ball comes in (6 pounds squishy ball by Valero) i will hold that instead of the hand weights to make it more challenging for my core.

I love the Stability Disc also. For one thing, I plop it on my computer chair for a "free" core workout while i work. It's very comfortable and makes my posture better.

I work out with it in tandem with the disc. When i use hand weights I stand on the disc. It's a little bit wobbly, but very easy. I can even lift my weights on it standing on one foot - requiring more concentration but also very fun. And it's also fun while watching TV.

I think it's good to have both. The twist board really does ONE thing: mainly to work out your obliques, and to a lesser extent your torso as a whole. The stability disc is a better torso/core workout and while both improve balance, the Disc is better than the Board.

The Board is more "fun," and i do also get a mild cardio workout from it.

The Disc is not cardio at all (unless you jiggle on it, which i do because i am a big kid)...but the big plus is using your hand weights while on it for a SUPER core workout/upper body blast.
The nubby side is also a nice foot massager.

So I recommend both. They really do different things. smile

LOL I had to look up Sto'vo'qor - it's Klingon Heaven!! Cool!

I even have a Klingon shirt that is red with a cute little Klingon on it - I can't find it on the web to show you. Maybe I'll take a picture of it later if I can find it. I will have to wear it while I twist smile

I have been looking for a "cute" timer to have down in my workout area to show me how much time has elapsed but I can't find any! The best I can find is a red-yellow-green stoplight style one for kids. I don't want one that is a stoplight smile I want one that is encouraging! Something like this -

oh, and also the Flylady timer has an option between buzzing and vibrating, VERY useful option!

With a built in clip for standing or hanging or laying flat, and a magnet also for hanging on the fridge.

Okay i will stop promoting it now. But it really is the best timer i have used.

Hey Rosie, 60 isn't old! It's the new 50. Plus, Lisa and I aren't as young as you are probably thinking. I am 40 next month. (which is the new 30). smile

But really, walking 2 miles every day is AMAZING. Walking is the best exercise. Right, Deb?
