Well, you may remember we were speaking about tubal ligation a few weeks ago. I had had a consult with both the RN and MD and they were both very enlightened and more than willing to provide me the service I have been asking for. I went to my pre-op consult yesterday, got bloodwork and lab done, signed consent forms, spoke to Anesthesiology and the MD showed me the facility where everything will take place. Funnily, it's a birthing center! But they perform other outpatient procedures, such as BTL there as well. Of course, in the waiting area, they had all the beautiful Kodak moment baby posters up. I had a moment of sadness there, it lasted for about 1 minute or so. I'm sure you understand. Then it passed, as I was thinking about all the positive things that will happen to me and my partner in the years to come because of this decision that I'm making now. Ending on a funny note: as the MD walked me into and out of the facility, I noticed that they have to enter and exit by swiping their badge, the door is secured. She said "yes it's for security reasons, after all, we don't want anybody stealing babies..." We looked at each other and she said "in our case, we probably wouldn't mind, we may even sell it!" and smiled. Then she said "now if somebody would steal or hurt my dog, then I would really get upset!"... it was a funny moment, as I remembered her being very adamantly CF from my previous encounters with her. In closing, if anybody wants to impart any words of wisdom or advise, specifically concerning post-op, recovery, etc, I'm all ears! Thanks
