I just saw the trailer for the upcoming movie Made of Honor and being a Patrick Dempsey fan it looked really cute! In the film he is the Made of Honor to his best friend (a female).. has anyone ever been or seen people do something like this??

The movie also has a really interesting contest where you can win a wedding package and be married at the premiere? The honeymoon include Paris and Venice... I have never been to Paris but Venice is gooooorgeous!

Does Venice have a funny odor from all the canals? I know it is a gorgeous place - but, I have heard about the bad smells from the water. Is that true?

Well it does have "a smell" but its so beautiful and romantic!! All the old building and culture .. and don't forget Italian food!! AND if you win the contest they pay for your lodgings and food and cash (Did I mention the shopping in Italy?? wink )

If you are planning on getting married than I say go for it! This is a trip of a lifetime. And I agree Venice has a smell, it's even more so in the summer than the winter time, but it's not as bad as some say...at least not for me!

Also, about having a man be your maid of honor or a woman be the grooms best man. This has been done several times. In fact most brides have a guy that is there best friend and most grooms have a girl that is there best friend. So, if your best friend is a man and you want him to be your maid of honor, than I say go for it.

I think the switch of genders is interesting especially since I have a best guy friends and we have actually discussed that before .. he said he expected to be in my wedding which I thought was cute...

The difference is in the movie Patrick Dempsey appears to fall for the bride which is a cute twist because you kind of always root for the the two friends that seem perfect for each other to end up together...

The movie is releasing in May so I would guess that the trip is around then.. I would imagine May would be a beautiful time to be in Venice and Paris

I haven't seen the movie advertise yet. But it sounds like it will be a great movie...anything with Patrick "McDreamy" Dempsey is great! Are you going to enter the contest to win the trip to Venice and Paris?

I'm sure you will see more of the movie later .. and Nope can't enter the contest without plans to be engaged .. and I do not fit into that category!! But I have had several girlfriends recently be engaged so I passed along the word to them... If they win, I'm hoping I can be their witness/guest and win a free trip to the premiere smile I also will offer my services for the Bed Bath and Beyond shopping spree smile

I entered the contest but didn't win a thing. frown And I asked my best guy friend to be a "bridesman" for me before I even knew about this movie.
