Hi Tuffy,
Your workout sounds fun! I love to go for walks. All that air and stretching of the legs feels so good.
When I do my nordic track, it's usually in front of the tv LOL.

I know what you mean about the need to move. As a child I learned to be a sedentary person. I often think it is because I was taught in school to sit perfectly still with my hands folded on my desk. As a young adult, I noticed how I was able to sit so perfectly still. So I decided to change that by being vigilant about the stillness. Nowadays, I make myself jump up to get things even when I am comfortable, just to move around a bit. I seem to have succeeded but it is hard to break that habit.
I also enjoy doing my exercise outside. I like feeling the connection with nature. Running is the only thing that really gets me into a good sweat but I think evening walks are nice, too. That's why I can't wait for the winter to be over!

You and me both, about winter. I don't mind the different seasons, but by this time winter has worn out its welcome for me.
One thing I have struggled with lately is thinking back on some decisions I made when I was young that weren't healthy for me. I do realize now, after a lot of work on myself, why I made them. It's just hard sometimes to think back to pivotal points in my life when I could have done so much more for myself and instead made one mistake after another.
I tell myself it's all a part of my journey and it has all made me who I am today. That works most of the time, but not all.

Yeah, it's amazing how, even if someone warns us, we can't always make the decisions that are good for us. But at the time, that was probably the best you could do and no one can do any better than that.
I think it can sometimes take a long time for a person to forgive themselves. But I think figuring out just why you did what you did helps a lot.
I like that Maya Angelou quote.

Thanks. I read that one day and it spoke to me about how I've been feeling.

I know it's easy to look back from years later and say "oh I should have stayed in school" or whatever, but really we make the choices we need to at the moment. You never know what would have happened. Maybe if you tried to stay in school you would have had a breakdown because it was too much stress. Maybe the path you chose was really the best path long term ...

I agree with you, Lisa. Who's to say what the best path would have been? Maybe it only looks better because there are still so many unknowns.

It's tough. The most important decisions we make about our lives have to be made when I think some of us are least likely to make good choices.
But, I have a family and a job, and I'm doing as well as can be expected. I should count my blessings.

I turn 48 next month and hate this mid life. I read how great life is when you hit your 40s and mine went downhill with skin issues and weight gain.
I look forward to the 50s since they say it is the new 40s. I haev Suzanne Somers and Dr Northrup books and some Dr that was on Oprah recently and wrote on mid life - that book is now on my wish list for next shop trip at amazon.

Oy, the skin issues LOL! I got a facial last week. She asked me what products I use on my skin, and when I told her "soap and water" she nearly fainted. At that point she put an eye mask on me (probably to conceal her laughing).
But I did get some good information from her, without her trying to sell me anything. I know now how to take better care of my skin, and decided that being in my 40s I deserve a facial every few months. I went for many many years not doing nice things for myself at all (like facials and body work). Not any more!
