Hi All,
Well the snow storm that dumped 6 " in the DFW area of TX is gone as well as the snow! So I am back to making my gourd birdhouses. I have them scrubed with a mild solution of bleach and very well rinsed. They dried in the afternoon sun today. The seeds are loose and shake.
I am ready to drill the holes tomorrow but before I drill is there anything else I should do to these gourds? I have printed off serval webpages and some contidict the others.

That sounds good to me! I wouldn't want to put anything else on them which might hurt the baby birds. Good luck with it!

Thanks. I am drilling air holes in the top and in the bottom. With the hot TX heat, I want to make sure they have venilation. I am using dried twigs for the perches. I'll have them hung in my assorted trees in the shade.
Also putting out mesh bags with quilt clippings and another with dryer fuzz.
