Has anyone done any research or personal experimentation with cancer and the effects of an alkaline PH diet? What is the real truth on this subject?

Hi EatingVeggies,

Welcome to the Cancer forum!

Basically, an alkaline Ph diet is filled with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and limits or excludes most everything else. While there are certainly many healthy benefits to including fresh fruits and veggies in your diet, there is no scientific evidence to support that an alkaline Ph diet will prevent cancer.

We do know that a diet high in fiber and low in fat will help prevent some forms of cancer. However, an alkaline Ph diet limits many good foods that have the potential to prevent certain cancers.

Our bodies are really quite amazing and have a way of keeping our Ph balanced despite what we eat. Because of this, it is unlikely that an alkaline Ph diet can keep the Ph at a high level for an extended period of time. It 'might' be high initially, but our body will make the adjustments needed to get it back in balance.

I hope this helps.
