Hi Everyone,
I recently moved, and when I did, I found my big box of journals. I picked up a few and started reading. I found one in particular that was filled with almost nothing but my venting. It made me feel so bad just reading it! Then I started thinking about how much venting I must do. UGH!
So, I've started doing any venting I think I need to do on my computer. That way it can be erased later! LOL.
What does everyone else do?

I just read about an idea someone mentioned about writing it by hand (because we have more of a connection with pen and paper) and then burning it when we are done as a form of release, closure and getting rid of evidence. I thought it was a nice idea. You could have a bowl set aside for this purpose.

I did this once, Moe. I wrote a very long letter to someone who had hurt me deeply and I was at the stage of anger when I began writing. After about five pages my anger was gone, I felt free of negative thoughts and burned the letter with some sage leaves to purify my soul and my room while saying a prayer of thanks for the release.

That's a wonderful idea. I did end up tearing out many of those journal pages and I burned them. IT did feel wonderful! And I can definately see how writing my frustrations by hand would get more of my energy onto the paper, rather than just storing those angry thoughts on my computer!
I love sage too, so I can see where that would feel very healing. Thanks so much to you both!

I love sage too. I have a little seashell that burn some in to freshen the house during season changes.

Journals are a great way to vent, they also help in getting through the loss of a loved one, it has helped me get through divorce, & a major surgery, I think writing it down really helps, as time goes by you can read it & be amazed at how strong you really are..

I keep a blog online for writing about most of the events in my life. When I feel like recording deeper thoughts and feelings, such as being angry or sad, I have a special journal where I jot down my feelings and keep it in a place where I am less likely to see it. Out of sight, out of mind strategy

I do the same as Heather. I have online blogs, which I sometimes vent on but they aren't the really big vents. Those I save for paper. There's something more cathartic about getting that down on paper.
