I love colloquialism. Like my mother, at age 85, still uses some colloquialism from her childhood days in South Dakota. One of her sayings is "oh, about yea big" and another is "over yonder". What colloquialisms do you have in your "neck of the woods"?

"knee-high to a grasshopper" is another favorite of mine.

Hi Phyllis:
"Over Yonder" was an old Irish expression I grew up with. Also ---- when someone accomplishes something good---the favorite expression was: "There you go !!" This was made famous in the TV series, Mc Cloud, wth Dennis Weaver.

I remember that, Tony. My mother-in-law always said that, too. My Dad used to say, "that just gets my goat!" when something kind of irritated him. I often use "whatever paints your wagon" or "floats your boat" when I do not totally agree with someone.
