DH knows because I sometimes talk about it (and sometimes he reads over my shoulder). I think I've mentioned "a message board" a couple of times to close friends, but I never reveal the name. I almost slipped with my SIL once but managed to stop myself - she is search-savvy enough to find it, but at the time was too preoccupied in her own MySpace drama to really notice.

Sometimes I will say "I read somewhere...."

As far as books, I have no real problem telling people what I'm into at the moment. I like Jodi Piccoult, but can't read her one after the other. My guilty pleasure trash-reading material is the Janet Evanovich "Stephanie Plum" novels. They are light, easy and funny.

Hi, Alan. While it seems that this forum is directed toward women, men are also members and contribute regularly, such as Duane and Louie. We're also not really working for the betterment of women and their rights. I mean, some of us are feminists, but this forum was created so that anyone who does not want to have children can find support for making that choice, and to vent.

Just thought you'd like to know what we're really all about. If you have made the choice to be childfree or are thinking about it, and you want to talk to like-minded people, feel free to post regardless of your gender.

Yes, there are guys here like me that hang out. It's a fun place to just hang out and say what you wanted to say but you couldn't smile

My DH is the only one that knows but he doesn't know where it is. I won't tell anyone because this is a place where I can speak freely and vent or just read others venting. Sometimes reading others venting makes me feel better.

Me too! It helps me see that I'm not the only one who gets annoyed/upset with people pressuring me about kids.

DF is the only one who will ever know about this forum- the fact that I highly value my privacy goes hand in hand with being CF for me.

As for what I'm reading- I LOVE talking about books. I've been secretly hoping someone will recognize the quote in my signature... I read all kinds of stuff, often concurrently. I used to be such a lit snob, Trisharoni reminded me of that when she mentioned Stephen King. A few weeks ago I read a collection of his short stories called Everything's Eventual. I really enjoyed it and thought I'd share this quote from it:

God says take what you want- and pay for it

I'm not sure about the punctuation there, but I find the sentiment fascinating. It immediately brought to mind some of my childed friends and where their paths have taken them. I think it's a great line and it fits well with my personal budhist leaning spiritual beliefs about balance in the universe.

I am the shadow of a waxwing slain...
