I have heard that there are some flowers you can mix into your vegetable gardens that will help to repel pests (insects, birds, etc). Are there any seasoned gardeners out there that can help a newbie?

Hi MeSheWolf! Yes this is true. It's called companion planting. The most popular combo is marigolds and tomatoes. Nasturtiums and Petunias are also great for the vegetable garden as they, like marigolds, help to repel pests. :-)
