Let's see:

1. Spent tons of time doing homework this week to keep up with my full courseload at school.
2. Worked on home projects without worrying about making lunch for the kids or keeping them occupied.
3. Made appointments for spring break without worrying about whether I had a babysitter or if the kids would be in school.

1) Napped when I felt like it (and really needed it too)
2) Watched dvds with no interruptions
3) Started up horsback riding today after years of wanting to get back into it. Owwwwww...Freaking posting!

This week was a big one for us:

1. Moved across the country (literally) from sunny Brisbane to sunny Perth. I managed to do some study on the plane and watch some of the entertainment uninterrupted. That alone would not have been possible if we'd had children with us as there were two babies on the plane that screamed the whole way there. Their parents looked rather stressed by the end of the flight.

2. Went househunting all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Thursday we started at 9 and didn't get lunch until about 3. Friday we were out of here at 6:30am and didn't get back until around 6pm but we did have a lunch of prawns on the beach (it was so hot that we bought a kilo of semi-frozen prawns and by the time we'd peeled them they were completely defrosted!). Yesterday was an 8:30 to 3:30 day with no lunch. You couldn't do that with children.

3. Mick, my DH, has gotten a cold and today he's sleeping in until 9am and I've been making him breakfast in bed, etc. If we had kids, I'd probably just be requiring him to get up and help given hat they'd be unsettled by living in temporary accommodation.

4. The other thing is, moving is so much easier without kids. We don't have to worry about good school districts or making sure that we're close to sports clubs etc. Admittedly, finding a rental is hard with our two boys, but still, they're in great kennels and will be OK whichever house we get.

Trust me, it's weeks like this that make it clear that it's easier without kids.

Went out to dinner last night w/another CFBC couple we know and had Vietnamese food as well. yum!

The weather was so beautiful here today so we rode around in our Jeep with all three of our dogs and then went walking on the Lakefront. We are just getting in so b/f we stop a fresh market and picked up dinner and some wine. My DH is outside cooking on the grill while my furbabies are playing. Ah! life is good!

I LOVE MY CF life!!!!!

Mine is kind of full of not so good stuff, but nonetheless still stuff I could not have done with kids.

1. I was able to spend a lot of time at the hospital with my mom.

2. I've been sick the last few days with the flu, so I've been lounging on the couch mostly and letting DH wait on me.

3. Here's one good one...went and bought a new nice cellphone that I probably wouldn't have had the money for if I had a kid.

You're very right about your second one. When my friend with kids gets sick, no matter how bad she feels she HAS to get up and change dirty diapers/feed them/bathe them/break up their fights and so on ad nauseum. She does have a fiancee, but he does have a job so they time it so one of them is always at home with the kids, plus when he is home he's very good at tuning out everything but his computer games, so the kids go bug mom, even if she's sick. :P

Me:

1) I went to Bonn and Cologne in Germany for three days without telling anyone (I am single, by the way, but love this board!) Had to wait for two flights back to London and it took 12 hours on the road to get back to my place from Germany. I learned a lot though.

2) Started writing a new paper topic on Cleopatra's representations in film (I am an archaeologist) to be presented at a future conference in Melbourne, Australia

3) Woke up at 7PM and worked all through the night. I am most productive at night.
