I can understand that, as a mother, you want to see your children. However, if you are not in "a god place" psychologically, it's not healthy for *anyone* involved. You have to love your kids enough to step aside and want what is best for them. True, it's hard to do in the fishbowl this family lives in, but love is love, whether you are famous or not.

Right you can cause more harm than good being around them, until you get your own life straightened out.

Maybe she could take this opportunity to try to be a good role model ... she has all the world's eyes focused on her, she could actually be helpful here. Sort of like how Brad and Angelina go to places that need help and "drag" the press along with them to highlight to need for help.

Even if she did straighten up, she has already earned the reputation as being the party girl and uncaring parent. How long do you think it would take her to shake that reputation? What would she have to do?

I think she would have to stay in a rehab for a few months, religiously take parenting classes or have a parenting skills instructor come to her house with the kids and show her hands on.

She would definitely need to stay out of the limelight and stop associating with people who may lead her into the club scene.

It would take awhile and she would still be the butt of late night monologue jokes for awhile but it could be done and she and her kids would be better off for it.

Well and think of how inspiring that could be!! "If she can do it than anybody could do it!" I really wish she could take that road.

So do I. It would definitely make for a better life for her and her family.

She could also write a book about the change. It could be an inspiring book that could help other celebrities in her spot as well.

Since I do not know Britney personally, everyone is just assuming they know "how it is" and that she is a bad parent. Please remember you know ONLY what the paparazzi and gossip papers tell you. I'm not sure if everyone remembers when Tanya Tucker was called "wild" and her poor kids etc etc , and so was Madonna etc. etc. I think the truth is NEVER told, they could be walking from one store to another and you don't get told that you get told....Oh look there they are on a drug run, or they are on their way to rehab AGAIN. I feel badly for her, maybe she did some of this to protect her kids, one will never know. I can't imagine not being able to go anywhere without a camera on you and a crowd. I read somewhere that the Sam guy was drugging her but again that is gossip talk, one never knows.

This is one of the reasons that I am terrified for my son to become famous, he is good enough but oh boy I would be in the gossip paper on a constant basis. We even laugh about it, probably the only day I come out in my robe (we live in the country) they would snap a picture and it would probably say something like "there I was AGAIN at the drug/alcohol/mental center after my long night of partying" or here is the one I made up "there is his frail Mother in so much need,she can't even afford clothes, look at the poverty she is in because of her son" hahahahaha.

I definitely agree that we should in general take news reports with a grain of salt - but again I look at the Brad / Angelina example. They actively work to support people who need that support. They live in New Orleans and support the cleanup efforts. They take the press to places who need attention and funding. They treat their children very respectfully and with love. They are being great role models.

Britney is taking that same "press time" and acting in ways to harm the children ... she has great power, and she is wasting it.

I think the world should back off and leave this family alone.I've seen alot worse from people in my own family and no one is bothering them-although they should.

I do agree that she needs help but until shes ready to make some changes no one can force her to do it.Sure she can cause more harm than good to her children,and to herself.The really sad part is that their father is using them to get more money out of their mother..how is that helping them?

For as long as the world noses around in someone elses business they won't be able to take care of their own.
