Ya know, I was looking at some cool koi at the fish store recently. But I decided to pass. Too much work! <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Hi, my name is Nannynan, and I'm a betta addict.

Okay, been a while since i've been on so here's the update:
-One of my goldfish passed. Poor thing. We should start a fish obituaries string so that everybody can post when tragedy strikes.

-Good news, got a 20 gallon long with a topfin 30. Now my goldfish is happily zipping along with two scissorfin rasboras. I'm planning on getting a few cory cats later on. Also, right before the move, my goldfish laid a ton of eggs all over the 1 gallon aquarium.. those are hard to get off!

-I'm working towards setting up a 10 gallon, heavily planted aquarium as a bit of an experiment. I might get some cory cats for that one too.

Well, thoughts, suggestions and the like are all welcome. :-)

My litle pond is doing well, and I am learning a lot about keeping an outdor water feature with fish in it. The plants have been a challenge so far. Most are sunburning. I will have to move them inside and try lilies, i think.

I have been adding pretty feeder fish instead of koi - BIG price savings - and they grow to be as big and live as long. I keep bothering the LFS employes to select specific koi-looking feeders for me...11 cents a piece is a deal. Any that are too weak and die i just feed to Xena and Iolus.

Wow..sounds good Jilly !

I actually was considering one of those ponds myself...saw one on ebay...but then I got "real"...started wondering what I would do with the fish in the winter ...and other bothersome questions like that...so...good sense prevailed...and I passed.

I grew my goldfish feeders out a bit, and added the last batch to the pond. everyone is doing great, although I have algae problems (to be expected) and leaf burn...too much sun on both accounts.

Urgent! Sick goldfish!

My 4" comet goldfish has a swollen spot about 1/4" under her left eye that is about 1/4" long. It seems swollen, but it also might be sagging - has the look like when someone has a stroke, if that makes any sense. Or like a black eye...aaaaaanyway... She's eating fine and acting completely normal and swimming fine. Her gills, eyes, and mouth look fine. I thought that it could be maybe an infection in her mouth, but again she's eating normally. I also thought it might be a tumor. Please let me know what you think it is. I'll try to get a picture if it would help.

Thanks!!!

Well, nobody ever responded. Oh well. My goldfish is doing fine I guess. Doesn't look to good, but it seems to be fine.
