My first EMG test done some 25 years ago was so traumatic that I had to stay at home for one day before I could go back to work again. Follow-up tests were done much less painful.

People also seem to differ whether or not to have children tested before any symptoms of a neuromuscular disease are detected. As neuromuscular diseases are mostly passed on from one generation to the other, testing children can become a real debatable option.
