I'm a newbie here. I'm 21, I'll be 22 next month and hubby is 22. We were way too young when we got married (19)...of course we're still young but we made the decision to be CF before we were married. We said if neither of us wanted kids that it was ok. Every one says i'll change my mind cuz I'm only 21 but I really never wanted kids since I saw my sister give birth when I was 14. It scared the poop outta me. I'm so glad I found this site so I KNOW there are other people who feel the same way. I don't feel so 'awkward' anymore. It seems all my maternal instincts are towards animals, and it's funny reading about other women on here who are the same way. I absolutely LOVE animals and for the reason why some ppl don't want animals is for the reason why I don't wants kids. I just don't want them! I have no patience, babies/kids are gross to me. They're messy, whiney, and annoying. I dont like holding babies, I don't like giving them compliments and I could go on, but I'm just sharing a little about me. Anyways, I'm big on education and I have about year to go till I get my B.S. then I'm going to grad school. I think it's weird that people only have kids on their mind and don't even think about having enough money to support them. It just seems so sad to me. Well, that seems enough for now. This forum rules!

Glad to meet ya. I've noticed that too, there seems to be a LOT of women here who aren't so hot on kids, but animals make 'em turn into goo. (myself being one of 'em)

I always knew I didn't want kids - even when I was a kid, I didn't like other kids......
Every young adult in their 9th or 10th year of school should have to take a mandatory class for a whole year. The class would teach them about being single parents (Yes single - NO help!!).
Field trips to day cares to see what goes on - how much they cost - see what happens when the kid is sick, etc.
Next field trip - the grocery store. Add up food, diapers, medicines, etc. Figure out how long the child would be in diapers, etc.
Classwork - figure what type of job they would get as an adult, how much it pays, and could they afford to go out? Could they afford 1 kid or 2? What if they lost their job - could they turn to welfare or something....for how long?
I am not saying I want it to happen in real life (but it does)- but how about figuring it out if the child has a disease like cancer? What about mental retardation? Deafness? Autism? Being one of Jerry's kids? Life scenarios before it really happens....
Give the kids in-school "jobs" and pay them with play money. Make a business class in charge of a pretend day-care...same rules as real life. If you can't pay - your kid is out....
If you cannot "raise" your kid all year - you fail the grade and you cannot graduate until you get a passing grade.
I think if people did that - there might be a little less teenage pregnancies out there.
An idea just hit me - this could be a board game like "LIFE".

I remember how frustrating it was when people said to me, "you'll change your mind" or, "you're too young to know" - I think some people just KNOW at an early age - instead of just accepting the "norm", they observe and question...I know I did... Good for you for thinking about what you really want to do with your life and taking control... Welcome by the way...lots of kindred spirits here...

When I was in school I remember we had to carry this dumb egg around like it was our kid...name it, decorate it and make a little thingy to carry the stupid thing around! Then turn it back in after a couple of weeks for a grade. The first week the boys in my class "eggnaped from me" and left a ransom note (don't remember for what)...anyway I did't get it back until grading time and the teacher found out and I got a less than great grade. I was happy it got taken b/c I didn't have to deal with it......

i was watching an episode of the the show "decision house" and the guy kept saying how he wanted a kid. so judge toller who i really love! gave him and egg to take care of. it was really funny b/c he would leave it everywhere and forget about it for hrs. anyway, it made him realize that clearly he wasn't ready for kids. i thought it was great!

Laughing out Loud,
BellaOnline Chat groups are just amazing. They give good information out to anyone who never knew that. I first like to say that when i was a child i dreamed of getting married and having children, till i hit my teens. Boy oh boy, I hated school, all the teachers, and even the students. I never wanted to go back there again. I met my boyfriend in 05' and we both never wanted to have children about a year ago and never wanted to get married because its just security and a peice of paper stating you to are together forever anyways, I even got my tubes banded so i could never have children again. I just got one nefew and thats it for me unless my sister has children again. I cant even hold a baby anymore NOR have one myself. I cant do that to a child.
