Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely day. This year I decided to make a craft I saw on marthastewart.com for a hanging paper heart candy holder... I made it with card stock folded a certain way then cut into a heart shape to form what looks like two hearts back to back, both filled with chocolates, hung by a piece of ribbon from a hook. It came out so cute!

Did anybody else give someone a homemade gift? What was it?

I teach classes, so I made about 100 gifts! We painted glass jars with hearts, and filled the jars with colorful conversation hearts. We then made a gift tag, which we tied with a ribbon around the mouth of the jar. It was fun to make, had food(yummm) and looked great when done. It was a winner!

The only gift we made were sugar cookies to give to Gramma and Pap-pap. Pap-pap says he gives up sweets for Lent, but that simply means that we don't ice the cookies, we just use sprinkles! Of course, at 86 yo, he can make those choices and we are more than happy to respect them.

Absolutely Debbie. It's always fun to give people things you made yourself, especially loved ones. I'm sure he was happy to receive them.
