Did anyone see Dr. Phil today? It was about a woman who caught her husband molesting her daughter... and then stayed with him for another 6 years. Her reasoning? Well, she jut didn't understand what a pedophile was... she didn't have any job skills... the military told her it was okay...she was mistreated too, you know....

The whole time, while her poor daughter (now grown up) watched her, open-mouthed, she just complained about how hard she'd worked, and how she'd done the best she could, and her daughter had such an ATTITUDE about everything...

It amazes me how people can justify ANYTHING. You want to know why people have kids who are in no position to? See above...

I wanted to slap her!

WTF???? I think if my mom had been that stupid I would have woke up one night and killed them both!

I was pretty [censored] during this show, I thought Dr. Phil was WAY easy on the mom, and that bullshit about the daughter trying to heal the relationship with the mom? WHY does he think that they always need to be healed? Why can't she just cut her losses with that waste of a breeder and say "Well, at least I learned what NOT to do!" and live a happy life without her, instead of always trying to fix a screwed up relationship?
I could tell what kind of person the mom was right away, like, if you met her in high school she would have been a spoiled rotten cheerleader who wants everything easy and will use her looks to get "taken care of". What total [censored] that she didn't know what a pedophile is! A rapist is a rapist, no matter the age of who's being raped, and EVERYONE knows what a rapist is.

AMEN!! I am so tired of people saying you have to forgive your abuser and you have to forgive and forget what you have been through and all that bs! Come on now! It the S O B had killed you no one would ask you to forgive and forget! and sometimes I think it would be kinder if the rapist just kills you so you would not have to deal with the fall out later! I was abused sexualy as a child. I am Glad I hate dr Fill-a-time-slot-till-something-better-comes-around-to-watch!!! The first and last show of his i watched had an overweight lady and her husband and he sat there and berated her for being over weight and eating to much when she described every sign and symtom of a thyriod disorder and not one time did he ask her if she had been checked for a medical condition!!!!!!!!!!! this one just goes to show you he aint none to bright! but as always that just my pov!

I just finished watching the show. I'm with Grey Drakkon the daughter would probably be better off not trying to fix this. Mother seemed a bit to ego centric to put her daughter first. Don't think that is going to happen.

Dr. Phil started out pretty tough on the mom but sure softened up by the end. I wonder how bad off the other kids are.

Yeah no [censored] about the other kids, the woman who was abused as a kid mentioned them, but I couldn't help but noticed the mom blithely bemoaned HER condition and didn't say a single word about how the other kids were affected knowing that their sister was being attacked over and over again while mom did nothing.

Freespirit, if that show you watched was early on, he might have gotten nailed on that because almost always now he says something about getting fully checked out by a doctor before trying to dump the weight (although laying off the ding dongs is a good step too). What I really can't stand is his wife, she's CONSTANTLY weeping! It gets really tiresome, you just know that every time her kids are mentioned she's going to get choked up and wave her hand around her face. :P

LOL Well the show that i watched I remember the girl was a vegan and said she did not over eat and he was all in her face and even the husband said she did not over eat and the good dr just berated her because she was lieing. and the husband wanted her to get libosucktion so she could be sexy again. the girl was maybe a size 14 so was my no means fat! Why is it that he thinks that all women have to be size 0 to be pretty? I mean he is by no means skinny sexy or anything hisself! So who is he to judge everyone else for not being skinny? but more then that he takes a stupid twit like this woman and starts out hard on her then eases up and lets her off the hook and tells the daughter to forgive her mom? Like the daughter should pretent it never happened so the mom can let the same thing happen to the other kids but with out the guilt and hostility and shame she MIGHT carry if the daughter does not just let it go?

I would have told the daughter to go to the cops tell them what happened to her and that there is other kids in the home and have them removed and even fight to raise the kids herself and tell her where to get help and how to do it.

Okay, so I watched the show and started this thread and have been buried in homework until just now. Sorry!

So who knows that after watching the show today, things could be worse?!!!

The guests today were a con man and his incredibly stupid ex. The guy was pretty much proven to be lying in everything that he said, so it was obvious that he is a complete [censored].

The wife, on the other hand, was the one who REALLY [censored] me off. As Dr. Phil pointed out, when a man tells you he's a doctor and he has a $10 million house in Florida, and when you get there he says he forgot the keys so you'll have to sleep in the car, shouldn't some warning lights go off in your head?!

She found out his lies early on in the relationship, but because he told her he's a Dr. (a lie), that if they slept together he'd 'take care of her.' So she gets pregnant with him. Twice. I mean, she knew he was a con within a month of their marriage?! What were the next three years? Is that how long it took to sink in?!

Please, someone get me a rusty knife so that I can cut out these women's uteruses and burn them.
