Do any of you watch this show on VH1? Boy if it isn't the best example of the posterchild for BC yet! I mean if a guy w/ as much money as Scott Baio has is freaking out about the financial burden of having a child, then the rest of us definitely don't stand a chance (not that we were going to anyway LOL). I think that if I was in Scott's position, I would be freaking out the way he does on the show (maybe even worse). And for those of you who haven't seen the show, well he is really freaking out. Glad it is not me in his place. Hopefully things will get better for the guy when the baby gets here (which due to lovely reality TV, I'm sure the kid has been born by now).
It sounds to me like Scott is being a little melodramatic. He can afford a child.
How does someone without financial data come to this conclusion?
The guy hasn't worked in years. That's probably why he's doing this "reality" show. Anyhow, affording something is relative of whether or not one wants to spend their money on the item in question.
He obviously does not want to spend his money on a child. Too bad he didn't take permanent precautions.
Perhaps he should have freaked out before he got his partner pregnant... Unless the thread title is meant to be taken literally - now, that would be an interesting first!
The thought of paying hundreds of dollars a month on diapers, baby food, etc., makes me hyperventalate. My DH and I could afford a child but I would rather afford a nice life now and a nice retirement with my fur-babies!!!
Yeah, the cost is staggering! I'm not really sure how my SIL and sister are doing it!
I'm just glad that I won't ever have to worry about it. Since I have 13 years left on my student loans, and I am going to be 33 this year, if I had had kids when most of my friends did, I could be paying for my OWN education at the same time I was paying for my kid's tuition!

Ah, now it makes sense! That's a rather bizarre name for a show - though it certainly catches the attention! I'm afraid I'm not familiar with it, I just remember him from Happy Days...
They had a show on Scott last year on VH1 called "Scott Baio is 45 and Single." We all learned at the very end of that show that his girlfriend was pregnant. Hence this new show - which is pretty crazy!
