I'm in Ohio in the United States. I call it soda, some of my friends call it soda pop.

In Brooklyn where I grew up it was soda, then I moved to Indiana where it is pop. But when I was in Massachusetts with small children and my neighbor said to me, "I gave your son some tonic, I hope you don't mind." I was shocked that she would presume to give him medicine until I realized what she meant.
